Over Sahutitos
"Sahumitos" refers to small bundles or preparations of dried herbs that are lit and allowed to smolder, creating fragrant smoke. These bundles are often used in rituals, ceremonies, or personal practices to cleanse a space's energy, ward off negative influences, and invite positive energies.
The ingredients used in sahumitos can vary, but they often contain dried herbs such as sage, cedar, lavender, rosemary and other aromatic plants. It is believed that each herb has its own specific properties and energies. For example, white sage is often used for purification and cleaning up negative energy, while cedar wood is associated with protection and grounding.
To perform a sahumitos ceremony, the spice bundle is lit, let it catch fire and then blow out the flames, smoldering the herbs and producing smoke. The smoke is then spread through a space, over objects or around a person's body to cleanse and purify.
Holy Mother
Sagrada Madre means 'Holy Mother', Pancha Mama, and this name reflects how they interact with the earth's raw materials.
In addition to charcoal, as a combustion agent, they use an odorless fruit-based biomass. Each year, more than 100 tons of fruit biomass is discarded in industrial processing, such as making juices. Instead of wasting these materials, Sagrada Madre effectively re-uses them in their incense.
All Sagrada Madre incense variations are carefully packaged in attractive natural packaging material to minimize environmental stress.
Warnings-instructions for use
Have a refractory bowl or abalone shell and a sachet of sand. Light the end of the bundle and blow it for a while so that the flame extinguishes and the bundle continues to smolder.
If the sahumito is tightly bundled, blow extra to allow the herbs to smolder properly. With this smoldering bundle, perform the smudging ceremony or session. Make sure the refractory bowl always stays under the sahumito bundle.
At the end of the session or ceremony, you can extinguish the bundle again in a bowl of sand (check that it has really gone out) and save the bundle for another use.
Use in a heat-resistant burner/substrate.
Keep removed from combustible materials.
Do not let it burn without supervision.
Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
Do not smudge near a smoke detector.
Venting well.
Store in a cool and dry place.
