Cleaning and charging mineral stones

Cleaning and recharging crystals is essential to clear stagnant energy and keep them fresh. After using crystals for a while, especially those that absorb negativity like black tourmaline, their energy can become blocked. If protective stones store too much external energy, their power begins to decrease. You don't want that.

It is also important to clean crystals immediately after purchase. Release them from the energy they picked up on their journey to you. It is good to remember that crystals are millions of years old and that they have been mined, exported, transported to a store and then possibly picked up and viewed by dozens if not hundreds of people before they made their way to you.

Clean your mineral stones regularly. Try to do this at least once a month. Below are some options for cleaning and charging them.

Water cleaning:

Place your mineral stones in a bowl under lightly running water on the evening of the full moon. Drain off the little bit of water and put your stones in the same bowl in the full moon for the full night.

 

Be careful:

Not all stones can handle water, such as amber, turquoise, red coral, fire opal, moonstone, calcite, kyanite, kunzite, angelite, azurite, selenite, mematite (many stones ending in "iet" are not friends with water)

Crystal singing bowl cleaning:

Place the stones in a cotton bag and hold the bag up in a crystal singing bowl, gently tap the bowl several times; your stones are cleaned by the sound vibrations of the crystal bowl.

Earth cleaning:

By bringing your minerals and (semi) precious stones back to the earth, they can cleanse and recharge with the vibration of the earth.

 

Sage cleansing:

If you notice that the effect of the minerals is diminishing, you can also cleanse the mineral stones by holding them over burning sage for a few seconds.

For the cleaning of gemstones and minerals, it is best to place the stones in the pyramid for at least 8 hours (uninterrupted). For heavily soiled stonesthis is24 hours and then the same treatment as for normal use. Placing the stones longer and more often in the pyramid gives even better results.
